Nocturnals Youth Program

Participating in The Knox Nocturnals Youth program will be great fun. It is a social inclusion program for 12-18 year olds in Knox or who go to school, work, volunteer or who have another strong connection to Ferntree Gully. The program supports and connects young people of all abilities in a safe inclusive environment.

Program participants must have a connection to Knox, live or attend school, work, be a member of a club or volunteer in Ferntree Gully. Knox Nocturnals is coordinated by the Rotary Club of Ferntree Gully and funded through the Knox Empowering Communities program. The program is  supported by volunteers, and professional youth workers.

FTG  young people participating in the program get the opportunity to meet and build friendships , gain new skills build confidence,  and have fun. To find out more click on the links below

You can join the program anytime during the year – registrations are always open 

The Knox Nocturnals program for 2024 begins on Friday 2 February 2024. Sessions run fortnightly on a Friday night 6.30 – 9.30 pm (excluding school holidays) to the end of June 2024.

Applications to join the program are essential.   

Program participants must be 12- 18 years old and have a connection to Knox, or live, attend school, work, be a club member or volunteer in FTG)

All applications received will be followed up with a phone call to parent/carer for confirmation of details. Notification that your application has been accepted/not accepted to attend the program will be given.

Be valued for the skills you have, meet new people, share a meal and most of all, have fun! We are now recruiting volunteers to assist with activity groups, catering, transport and general helpers for the Knox Nocturnals Youth Program.  Detailed role descriptions are available on this website. All volunteers will require a Police Check and current Working With Children (WWC) Card, must complete Child Safety training, and be available to attend a Volunteer Induction and Training Night at the start of July.

Volunteer Application Process:

1.      Click the tab to submit an Expression of Interest in a volunteer role.  

2.      Selection and screening. You will be assessed based on your interest, experience and skills relevant to the role. Police, WWC and Referee checks completed.

3.      Induction and training successfully completed.

Final confirmation of a volunteer role in this program will be made after the above steps are complete
